Kristina is a multi-genre indie author inspired by reality, darkness, and sarcasm. Her native language is Croatian. She was born a rebel and follows her principles. In the year 2013, she started Rebellious rules by Kristina Gallo. She described life situations in a form of satirical stories. Readers motivated her to write a book based on blog articles. She made a collection of self-help books.

In 2020 she started a new genre, suspenseful thrillers. She wrote novels inspired by actual events and mixed with imagination. New stories are grim, with sarcastic descriptions and witty characters. The point is not in a happy ending, but more in a powerful message.

In Croatia, she traditionally published the book “Pink Glasses”, about the relationship between people of two unique cultures. Writing is her passion, new ideas are always around.

What motivates you to write and how did you get started?

I started writing when I was a teenager. I was rebellious and life situations motivated me to describe it in stories. First it was a story in notebook, written with pencil. English is not my native language so my first stories were on Croatian language.

What’s most rewarding about writing?

It is therapeutic thing, I feel like burden fell from my chest when I can make a story. Also I enjoy in sharing my emotional side and solving mysteries in my books. When my first reviews arrived, I was thrilled. The review is the best reward for the author. Especially if this is five star review.

What’s your favorite genre and why?

I love suspenseful thrillers and mysteries. My wish is to write a story with psychological effects, and to challenge reader. These are not too much bloody and raw stories. This plot demands logical explanations, why people wants revenge or death to someone, and it reach deep in human psychology.

Where do your characters come from?

My characters are inspired by real life. I knew some people who were my muses. With their help, I shaped book characters. Some characters I picked random, because of their interesting nature, or they are product of my imagination.

Who is an author who inspires you and why?

Agatha Christie , Francoise Sagan and Guy de Mauppassant inspired me.

Agatha was the best crime writer ever, and Francoise was a feminist who wrote about independent, strong and modern women. Guy wrote dark and dramatic stories with shock effect.

What do you look for in other people’s books?

I love adrenaline stories, fast read and dynamic characters. I don’t like slow burn books. If a story is too extended, I gave up reading.

Tell us about your newest book or what you’re writing now.

I finished a manuscript. My new thriller is “The secret behind the silk sheets” will release in January 2023. It is a story about a guy who vanished in the storm. The further investigation discover family secrets and lies, and murder happens. Connected with a case from the past, and characters who are related with a missing guy, this story will reveal the life of rich family and criminal activities.

What kind of book would you like to be known for?

I would like to be known as a writer of thrillers and mystery stories.

What has writing taught you about yourself?

It taught me about my spirit and persistence. I can do everything when I wish, and when I am motivated.

How has your life experience influenced your writing?

My life was a background for my writing. Trauma experiences influenced my stories.

What encouraging advice can you offer new writers?

Don’t give up if you see bad reviews, many people are trolling on Amazon. Find a good editor and a cover creator. People love nice covers, that attract readers.
