Description:
The creepy short story prequel to the ‘Ghost Hunter’ series of novels! Malachi Hunter’s abiding passion for the occult and supernatural has made him a loner and social misfit. Unfortunately, his lack of self-confidence has always prevented him from fulfilling his ambition to become a ghost hunter. That is until he meets Anna Spalding. In a misguided effort to impress her, he agrees to investigate a property managed by her father’s letting agency. His investigation has consequences that none of them could have anticipated…
Mal’s story continues in ‘A Matter of Faith,’ ‘Of Gods and Ghosts,’ and ‘Blood Ties.’
Review: “A well-written, captivating book that I highly recommend.”
I was curious about the subject of this tale and was quickly pulled into the story. The protagonist, Malachi (Mal) Hunter, is just starting out on his quest to become a ghost hunter. Since he’s not overly confident and has been ridiculed by his peers, Malachi has a lot to overcome. Tracking down ghosts can be a scary business. But Mal’s interest in the supernatural spurs him on.
I really enjoyed the way Malachi’s character was developed in this story. I liked his cautious but steady steps to achieving his goal. As he helped himself overcome his fears and continued on regardless of what he found, I felt as if I was making the journey with him. By the end of the book, I was cheering him on and appreciating his determination and courage.
THE NOVICE GHOST HUNTER is a well-written, captivating book that I highly recommend.
Five stars for this spooky story.
