Description:
Panagiotis born in Athens, Greece was given, not a mythical but real superpower, as an artist. He knew from an early age he had talent. However, his fairly open-minded Greek parents, like many other Greek parents expected him to become a lawyer or a doctor. Irreverent, comedic, and honest this mini-biography anecdotally shares how Panagiotis’s drive to succeed as an artist lead him down some rabbit holes at a time when the Greek economic crisis was at its heights. In this lovely, heartwarming, hard-luck life adventure you are likely to find yourself all the while laughing through his hilarious journey.

a Graphic artist’s Diary is a wonderful, easy-to-read story about what one will do to find when they know they were born with a talent to find their purpose. His message; follow your dream until you find yourself living it. Bumps and all…living in your bliss is worth it. But first, you must know yourself…see who you really are.

My review:
This book is a moving, true story of a graphic artist’s struggles and the perseverance it takes to keep going in the face of adversity. It could also be the story of many creative people. Painters, musicians, and writers often run up against the same kind of negative response when it comes to making a living by pursuing their art.

I found the book to be a close up and personal account of what the author endured in his effort to find his place in the world. He’s a most talented graphic designer, and yet he was often treated with little or no respect. The fact that he didn’t give up is truly inspiring. It demonstrates how important it is to believe in oneself no matter what others say or do to put you down.

In the end, this artist succeeded. I’m so happy that he did. By hanging in there and continuing to offer his creativeness and artistic abilities to the world, he’s helped countless others. He’s given them the gorgeous book covers and other designs that helped to make their books and products succeed too.

The author’s story is told with both humor and heart. It reveals what a true artist will do to overcome the hardships in their path. It made me appreciate what it takes for them to share their gifts with the world. This is a five star book that I highly recommend.
