Description: Our two zany sleuths, Page and Betsy, return in Book 3, landing another twisty murder case. The two cousins stop by The Perk Coffee Shop for pumpkin lattes to celebrate the first day of fall. An ever-observant Page notices Shell Isle’s High School math teacher sitting nearby. His odd actions awaken her curiosity. Hunched over the newspaper’s classified section, the teacher is frantically circling numbers and mumbling to himself. More troubling, the sleuth witnesses a bruiser of a guy joining him. With a quick exchange of laptops and heated words, the thug disappears out the door, leaving the teacher rattled. Immediately, Page gets one of her inklings, signaling there’s more than coffee brewing at The Perk.

The story’s twisty plot will keep readers guessing until the last chapter. Splashes of light romance, plenty of shenanigans, and a few unexpected surprises await.

BONUS: Betsy’s recipes are included. Calling them a ‘bonus’ may be a stretch. She’s a lousy cook.

Review: Cozy, fun and perfect for a reading get-away!

Escape to Shell Isle and let yourself be entertained by sleuths Page Wright and Betsy Ross. These cousins each have their own way of keeping the story moving along in a way that’s fun and cozy. Page has ‘inklings’ that help her discover the facts about a murder case, while Betsy keeps us worried. We keep wondering if the people who sample Betsy’s unique and fiery-hot food will survive their meal.
There’s also a blossoming romance to keep us turning pages. Handsome Detective Steve Tanner is perfect when it comes to fanning Page’s heart’s desire, while also being an ideal partner in their murder investigation.

The writing flows along beautifully. The characters are sometimes quirky, sometimes funny, and always engaging. The mystery keeps you guessing, and the story is filled with everything a reader needs to relax and enjoy an escape from daily affairs. Savor this entertaining read by Tonya Penrose. However, if you try any of Betsy’s recipes listed at the end of the book, I’d advise caution!
